Crescent Moon Tower

The Crescent Moon Tower is an architectural design project. This idea was developed and rendered because of the challenge to design a tall emblem structure for Za’abeel Park, a park that is located in the north-east of the Dubai World Trade Centre. This unbelievable building is designed not only to symbolize the Dubai as part of the Islamic world, but also shows the technology and economic development in Dubai.

Volcanic mud beauty

El Totumo Mud Volcano  is a volcano of mud located in northern Colombia in the municipality of Santa Catalina. A local tourist destination, popular for its alleged healing mud-bath. The mound itself raises at about 15 m (49 ft) and it is serviced by an accessible staircase that leads to the crater, which can accommodate about 10 to 15 people at a time; there, tourists bathe in the dense warm mud and have the option of receiving personal massages from the attendants. The experience is then followed by a bath to remove the mud in a nearby lagoon.

1. ► Ʈheoretically, the Titanic was unsinkable, so the owners decided to save the boats, and expand storing space. The ship was equipped with only 20 lifeboats with a total volume of 1,178 people, that is, half the passengers.
2. ► The container was divided into 16 waterproof sections, which in the case of depressurization were blocked for 25 seconds, stopping the ship from sinking. "Titanic" was constructed so that he can stay floating in case of flooding of any two of its 16 watertight compartments, all three of the five sections, or all of the first four compartments. Stockholm Public Library

Stockholm Public Library is a library building in Stockholm, Sweden, designed by Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund, and one of the city's most prominent constructions. The name is nowadays used for both the chief library itself as well as the community library system of the City of Stockholm.

Discussed by a committee of which Asplund himself was a associate from 1918, a design system was planned in 1922, and creation began in 1924. Partially enthused by the Barrière Saint-Martin (Rotonde de la Villette) by Claude Nicolas Ledoux, Asplund abandoned earlier ideas for a dome in favor of a pavilion whose tall cylinder gives the exterior some monumentality. In the course of its planning, he reduced elements of the classical order  to their most intellectual geometrical forms, for the most part removing architectural decoration. Stockholm Public Library was Sweden's first public library to apply the code of open shelves where visitors could access books without the need to enquire library staff for help, a idea Asplund studied in the United States during the construction of the library. All the furnishings in all the rooms were designed for their specific positions and purposes.

Publically opened on 31 March 1928 in the presence of Prince Eugen, due to financial restraints the library was still missing its west section which was only added in 1932 to complete the around square base around the rotunda of the main reading room. Stockholm Public Library is one of Asplund's most significant works and illustrates his gradual shift from classicism to functionalism.

Also planned by Asplund and completed in 1931 is the parkland to the south with its large pond and the shops sideways Sveavägen.

Stockholm Public Library comprises more than 2 million volumes and 2.4 million audio tapes, CDs and audio books.

The "international library" is the section for foreign languages, contained in two floors of an wing behind the main building, close to Oden plan. Its assets include more than 100 languages with 17,000 volumes in Persian, 15,800 in Arabic, and 14,500 in Spanish. In 2007 the most borrowed languages were Russian (19,300 loans), Thai, Spanish, Persian, Chinese, Arabic, Polish and Japanese. For some of these languages, Stockholm serves public libraries in the rest of Sweden from side to side interlibrary loans.

The Black Sun Phenomenon : Denmark

Sort sol is a nature phenomenon in the marshlands in southwestern Jutland, Denmark, in particular the marsh near Tønder and Ribe. Very large numbers of migrational starlings gather there in spring and autumn when they move between their winter grounds in southern Europe and their summer breeding grounds in Scandinavia and other countries near the Baltic Sea.

Sort sol takes place in the hours just after sunset. The birds gather in large flocks and form huge formations in the sky just before they decide for

location to roost for the night. The movements of the formations have been likened to kind of a dance or ballet and the birds are so numerous
that they seem to obliterate the sunset, hence the term "sort sol" (Danish for "black sun"). Sort sol in the marsh near Tønder can occasionally comprise a formation with up to one million birds. Usually flocks break up when the number of individuals exceed about half a million birds due to excessive internal disturbances in the flock.
